CANDLE CARE

Once you get your lovely soy candle home you want to make sure that you get the best out of your candle for as long as possible. Your candle requires a little bit of tender loving care to make sure that it smells and looks great.

Top tips for looking after your candle…

TRIM YOUR WICK

Trimming your wick is an essential part of your candle care! You should trim your wick to around 3mm before you burn your candle and this should be done every four hours of burn time. You will then get a nice clean and even burn throughout your candle’s life.

THE FIRST BURN IS IMPORTANT

When you first light your lovely candle make sure that you burn it for between 3-4 hours so that your first layer has completely melted. This will ensure that you do not get tunneling on your second burn.

If a candle is not burned for long enough to allow the wax to liquefy or to melt from edge to edge of the glass, it will create a “memory ring.” Once a candle has a “memory ring,” it will continue to tunnel for the rest of the time.

NICE & COSY

Keep your candle nice and cosy wherever it is. Avoid drafts, vents or air currents. This will help prevent rapid or uneven burning, sooting, and excessive dripping.
